Product Reviews

Name: Review:
I had high hopes for this printer from the start, with its promises of longer-lasting inks and lower electricity bills. As I settled into using it, I was pleased to find that setting it up was as straightforward as expected - the setup process flew by quickly without any hiccups.

But despite its promise of ease of use, my experience has been anything but smooth. One of the biggest issues is how frequently the printer turns itself off. It's a constant reminder to check the device before sending out print jobs, and it can be frustrating when I need to send a job in an instant. This means I often have to manually turn it back on after just a few seconds.

I've also been experiencing problems with automatic printing. Whenever I want to print something, my printer just seems to shut down altogether, leaving me to start again from scratch. It's frustrating when this happens repeatedly - especially since I'm not the only one who's having trouble getting it to work.

The wait time for prints has also become a major issue. With so many images available online, I sometimes find myself preferring to draw them out myself rather than waiting around for the printer to spit them out. And while some people might see this as slow, I think there are plenty of faster alternatives out there that would be quicker and more efficient.

As it stands, I've come to the conclusion that this printer is not worth its price. Its wireless functionality is a major letdown, and even when connected via USB, the experience feels clunky and inefficient.

I found myself torn when searching for an alternative to my old Canon Pixma MX925, which had finally given up on me with its predictable print quality issues. Reviews suggested the PIXMA G4570 as a more reliable replacement, boasting mega ink tanks and automatic duplex printing capabilities that I've grown accustomed to. However, the drawbacks quickly became apparent: the user interface is awkwardly designed, making it difficult for me to read the tiny display screen without a magnifying glass, which is a constant pain when trying to make sense of what's on there.

I was surprised by how little use I get out of the print tray - it seems like an afterthought compared to the rest of the machine. Setting up the wireless connection has been a frustrating experience, as it keeps dropping off in certain locations. The print head is woefully inadequate, requiring manual intervention every time I want to print something.

The biggest letdown for me was the overall cost. If only they had replaced the old print head with one of these newer models, the MX925 would have been a more worthwhile investment - now it feels like an expensive indulgence that's not worth it in terms of functionality and reliability.

The ease with which I've integrated this printer into my office setup has been truly remarkable, as it seamlessly integrates with both Windows 11 and Linux, making it an ideal solution for small business owners like myself. The abundance of features that come standard is impressive, including the inclusion of web apps in Win11 to help me create professional documents and fliers. Having access to deb packages also opens up a wealth of additional software options.

The driver available through the Cups system makes the setup process even more straightforward, while the on-board feeder for scanning has proven to be a game-changer - simply place a document and let it scan, without having to lift a finger. The interface is user-friendly, but I do wish it were a bit larger; however, an accompanying app does make up for this minor quibble.

Overall, the quality of print and colours is exceptional, as well as the depth of scanning quality - this has been a pleasant surprise, especially considering my extensive experience with printers from top manufacturers. I've thoroughly enjoyed exploring all the features at my fingertips, making it a valuable investment in my business's productivity.
